Philip Bingenheimer

Financial Assistant

I have lived in the Columbia area since my family relocated here in 1976. I received a BA degree in management at USC, and an MBA degree from Southern Wesleyan University. In 1991, I began attending Wednesday morning communion services at Ebenezer, and joined as a member the following year. I work full-time for an insurance technology company, in finance and accounting. I’ve been a choir member at Ebenezer for many years and have served on the Outreach and Finance ministry teams, as well as been a Council member.

In 2015, my husband, Jim Johnson and I were married in the historic Ebenezer Chapel. For fun, Jim and I like to travel the world with the Ebenezer New Generation group. I’ve always been an animal lover, having rescued several dogs and cats over the years. In early 2016, we moved to a home on a few acres of land and we’re currently raising alpacas (we have a herd of five now) as well as numerous chickens, in addition to our two husky dogs and two cats.

I previously served as Ebenezer Lutheran Church’s Treasurer (2016 – 2018) and in late 2018, I began working as Ebenezer’s part-time Financial Assistant. I enjoy working with numbers and financial planning and I’m passionate about helping members plan for what’s ahead. Ebenezer members have a long history of generosity and giving to others. I’m blessed to be a part of the ministry we share at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.
