Ebenezer Lutheran Church Foundation

The Ebenezer Lutheran Church Foundation was established in 1989 by congregational action as a separate eleemosynary corporation which has been granted tax exempt status under IRS Code 501(c)(3). The purpose of the Foundation is to provide resources to enhance the ministry of Ebenezer by funding items, services, and programs not covered in the church’s annual operating budget.

Since 2005, the Foundation has helped to fund small-group ministry, the Memorial Garden, guest theologians, Stephen Ministry training, the columbarium, a new ELC website, cameras and other equipment for live-streaming services, a replacement server and new computers for the church office, new robes for musicians and worship service assistants, a new sound system and Chrismon trees for the sanctuary. Funding for these projects ranged from $500 for small group ministry to $59,500 for the columbarium construction and landscaping. As columbarium niches are purchased, 90 percent of the sales return to the Foundation and 10 percent goes to the church for perpetual care.

The Foundation is managed by an elected Board of Directors to encourage and receive donations, contributions, and bequests; to invest those gifts wisely to promote growth; and to determine funding proposals that fall within the Foundation’s intended scope of support. Members and friends of Ebenezer can make donations in honor or in memory of loved ones and consider the Foundation when making estate plans.
