Strengthening Faith Through Knowledge

Sunday School

Sunday school is the foundation of Ebenezer’s program of Christian education. Sunday morning learning opportunities are planned and administered by the Faith Formation Team who is committed to the lifelong teaching of the love of Jesus. The Sunday school program offers learning opportunities using the Spark Curriculum for all ages. Please note volunteers working with children are required to attend Child Protection Training.

Children ages 5 – Grade 5 – Room 203

Confirmation Classes (Grades 7 & 8) – Room 306
In an informal setting, our class explores what it is to be Christian and Lutheran.  We use as text the words of Martin Luther himself, relying on his Small Catechism to help guide conversation about how deepening our faith enriches our lives.  We also learn the ins and outs of Lutheran worship, with intensive instruction on the liturgy and the Bible. This class is essential to prepare youth for participation in the ministry God calls us to perform.

Confirmation takes place on Reformation Sunday following the completion of course and service work, and after having attended required retreats.

Grades 9-12 – Room 104
In this interactive, no-pressure atmosphere we use a DVD series, “re:form,” to spark discussions on diverse topics including:  ‘Did Jesus know he was God?’ ‘Can you accept the evolution theory and still be a Christian?’ ‘Is God male?’ ‘Did God create the devil?’ This class covers all the questions you were afraid to ask. Donuts may appear from time to time.

Disciple Camp

Ebenezer offers an annual Disciple Camp for children and youth entering first grade through tenth grade at the South Carolina Synod’s Kinard Conference Center. This faith filled week provides an effective opportunity for children and youth to worship God through music and rehearse and perform an original musical play based on the camp theme. Arts, crafts, swimming, boating, Bible study, and fellowship round out this special week.
